Jaime Gomez Rivas | |
| I studied Astrophysics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and the Université de Liège (Belgium). From 1995 until 1997, I worked at the Space Research Organization Netherland . I received my PhD degree in Physics from the University of Amsterdam in 2002. From 2002 until 2005, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Aachen (Germany). I lead the group Surface Photonics at the FOM Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMOLF) and at Philips Research since 2005. In 2010 I was appointed as part-time professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology. My scientific interests are nanophotonics, plasmonics, semiconductor nanowires and THz photonics. | ||

Karsten Goede | I am a proud native of Berlin (Germany), where I also studied physics at the Technische Universitaet Berlin (2001 diploma grade very good, thesis on mid-infrared absorption and emission properties of quantum dots). For my Ph.D., I moved to Universitaet Leipzig (Germany) and focussed on peptide behaviour at semiconductor surfaces (grade magna cum laude in 2008, and my thesis is available as a book). As a postdoc, I started in Leipzig to look at optical properties of such molecule-semiconductor interfaces. Then, in 2011 I moved to the Cluster of Excellence Engineering of Advanced Materials of Universitaet Erlangen (Germany) and worked in the framework of an intense co-operation at CINaM Nanoscience Centre of Université de la Méditerranée (Marseille, France) on adhesion of artifical cells to bio surfaces. In 2012, I joined AMOLF to work on biosensing by surface plasmonics. |

Gabriel Lozano | I received the Physics Degree with honors from the Science Department of the Universidad de Cordoba (Spain) in 2006. Then I studied in the University of Sevilla (Spain) under the Material Science and Technology program, which I completed in 2007 and I worked four years in the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Sevilla under the supervision of Prof. Hernan Miguez, obtaining my PhD degree in 2010. From 2011 I am working as a Postdoc in the Surface Photonics group at AMOLF. My research interests are mainly focused on nanophotonics and plasmonics aiming to modify the emission properties of different luminescent materials. |

| I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Engineering Physics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA). I then studied photonics at KTH (Sweden) and Ghent University (Belgium) under the Erasmus Mundus Master in Photonics program, which I completed with Greatest Distinction. My current research interests are on nanophotonics, specially on the interaction of optical nanoantennas with light-emitters. | ||
